Question about making a blue ray with several short films

May 20, 2012 10:03 PM

Do all my assets have to be 1920 x 1080 and the same frame rate. For example if the films are all 1920x1080 but different frame rates (ie 24 and 25) will that still work? or if the the frame rates were all the same but the movies were 1920 x 1080 and 1280x720 will that work? Thank you for any help

As long as they are on different timelines, mix away!

PIck your default for the menu transcode settings.

You don't want Encore to uprez. I have not played with enough equipment variations, but I assume that the BD on HD sets may uprez. Or leave them alone.

No need to upres 720p. It will be encoded at that resolution. You can mix different framerates and resolutions on the same disc. Your menus can be 1920x1080 60i, and you can have a 1920x1080 24p video, 720x480 SD video, and a 1280x720 25p video all on the same disc. Nothing will be up-resed or down-resed, as they will all be in their native resolution / framerate on the disc.
