Creating dynamic links to PDF within PDF

May 21, 2012 10:12 AM

I have created 2 PDF documents. One has links to destinations in the other PDF. The links work great until I move the PDF documents to a different folder and end up with dead links because the target information does not change automatically when the files are moved.

Is there a way to create a link that will be dynamic and change when the files are moved? I need to be able to send this set of documents to different places and have them function regardless of the file folder they are stored in. They will always be stored together, but the folder name may vary.

My other option was to combine the two documents and create links that would open the destination in a new window but I have failed to do this as it recognizes the destination as being in the same file as the link and will not give me the option to open in a new window.

Running 9 Pro w/ Windows 7

How were the links created in the first place? Do they have a "Go to a page view" type action or "Open a file" type action?
