Photoshop CS6 extended on the cloud?

May 21, 2012 1:07 PM

Do I need to remove my paid version of CS6 to download and use Photoshop extended App from the cloud?  I don't have a 3D button, I had the 3D ver.  with the beta CS6 and when CS6 was made avail for purchase I got it but the 3D was gone. And after seeing it was on the Creative Cloud I subscribed and downloaded it but still no 3D button. I must be missing some thing I just can't find it.

Are you absolutely sure you have the extended version installed? Also, from the footnote of the tech specs page "3D features and some GPU-enabled features are not supported on Windows XP." Do you have Windows XP installed? If so, maybe it worked only in the beta?

Finally, if you meet all the requirements, you may want to make sure that you completely uninstall Photoshop and reinstall it.

Yes you need to make sure you completely uninstall the PS CS 6 Public Beta which was extended version...

Also make sure that the version you  purchase of Photoshop CS 6 is extended not standard.

The 3d feature is a part of PS CS 6 extended.

    Thanks

    Mandhir

fscotthome, I think Mandhir may have misread your post. Photoshop CS6 Extended is available to Creative Cloud subscribers as well as all the apps from the Master Suite.

Confirming that what SSP-Mark said is true, the version of Photoshop in the Creative Cloud is Photoshop Extended.

    Hi,

Assuming you aren't installing this under Windows XP (since you had 3D features working in the Ps Public Beta buld), you should be able to get Ps CS6 Extended to work with a Creative Cloud membership.

You don't need to uninstall the shipping version you purchased and activated with a serial number (again, I'm assuming this was the Ps CS6 version and not Ps CS6 Extended), but you do need to Deactivate it. Go to Help> Deactivate... then Quit Photoshop. Now relaunch and you should see the terms dialog again. Agree, and when prompted to license, use the AdobeID that you used for the Creative Cloud mambership. This should get the Ps CS6 Extended version enabled and working.

    regards,

    steve

    Hi Scott,

Glad to hear that worked and you have the 3D features. If you for whatever reason keep the purchased Ps CS6 point product and want to activate it again on the same machine, it appears you'll have to do a full uninstall at this point in time. This clears the Creative Cloud subscription checking and resets the licensing so you can enter the perpetual serial number.

Also, just a note that we do sell Ps CS6 Extended as a standalone perpetual license too. Not knowing what your particular upgrade situation is, I can't be very helpful on how to go about making that change, though.

    regards,

    steve
