Can you post the contents of your FlashInstall.log file in

    • C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash (if you are on a 32-bit system)
    • C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash (if you are on a 64-bit system)

Also, in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Scheduled Tasks, is Adobe Flash Player Updater enabled?

The old updater (ie. not the new silent auto update service) is on a 7-day check interval and will only notify you after a reboot of your system.

It should be noted that while both Mac and Win have a 7 day interval, the Mac does not require a reboot of the system for the notification to appear.

To confirm, have you also rebooted your system?  Can you check to see if you have a mms.cfg file in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\ folder and if so, please post the contents of the file in a reply?

Thanks.  Looking for additional tests that you can try.  Will let you know what I hear.

Ok, I found out that you can try to trigger this notification manually.  To do this, open a command line prompt and go to c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash.  Once there, run "FlashUtil -update activex" or "FlashUtil -update plugin" depending on the type of Flash Player you'd like to update.  That should trigger the notification.
