I've just hopped onto the creative cloud and now need to work on files created in Soundtrack Pro. The native SP format for multitrack files is proprietary. Can Audition parse these files?
While this doesn't solve your problem, since you're used to STP, check this out:
http://forums.adobe.com/message/4067368
The information is a year out of date as it was written for CS5.5, so if you want to do it in CS6, use "5.0" in the folder/file paths instead of "4.0"
Let us know how Audition is fitting into your workflow compared to STP.
Audition cannot parse the soundtrack file. but.... I've also been trying to figure out how to bring a multi-track Soundtrack Pro project into Audition and at this point, there are two options:
OPTION 1
- Open the multi-track Soundtrack project.
- Export as AAF
- Import AAF into Premiere.
- Export OMF
- Import OMF in Audition.
I think there may be an issue with projects with more then 2 tracks... (basically defeating the whole purpose). The project looking correct but the audio files are not linked properly.
OPTION 2
- Open the multi-track Soundtrack project.
- Export as aiff or wav. Select "After Export: send files to Final Cut pro sequence"
- FCP opens and asks to be saved. Save it.
- Export FCP project as an XML File. (Apple XML interchange Format, version 4)
- open Audition and import XML.
Option 2 keeps the projects track structure intact. But it does 'bake' each track together.
