What is the correct Camera Raw Plug-in for Lightroom 4 used with Photoshop CS4?
Thanks. You said "It will be necessary to render a TIF image with Lightroom adjustments, and send that image to Photoshop." I used to right-click on an image in LR and choose "Edit in Photoshop," and it opened in Camera Raw first. How do I send it as a TIF? (how do I render a TIF image and send that to Photoshop?)

I don't recall ever going from Lightroom to ACR. However, if it really did that, it was probably because your ACR was current with Lightroom. Now you have Lightroom 4, the raw processing is more advanced. And the ACR you are using cannot read all of the adjustments. So it's better to render a copy of that includes the Lightroom adjustments and send that to Photoshop. Otherwise it will be difficult to get a matching image.
When you first installed LR4 and opened an image from LR to PS, you should have gotten a warning about needing Camera Raw 7 and it gave you three options; Cancel, Render using Lightroom and Open Anyway, it also had the option to Don't Show Again. If you clicked on that option, and used anything other than Render using Lightroom you'll have issues of the image not matching in Photoshop. In Lightroom you'll need to go to the LR Preferences and in the General tab, select the Reset all warning dialogs button. This will give you the wrning the next time you open a raw image to Photoshop. Then select the Render in Lightroom option. If you then don't want to see the warning you can select the do not show again option and from then on, Lightroom will simply render the file, save the file and send it to Photoshop.
That method wasn’t working with CS5’s Photoshop.exe in one version or other of the LR4 RC, but maybe things are ok in the released version or with a Photoshop older than CS5’s.
If that doesn’t work, then can also just define Photoshop.exe as an addition external editor: Preferences / External Editors -> Choose then navigate to and select your CS4’s Photoshop.exe, and to use it you can just do Edit In Photshop.exe instead of Edit In Photoshop.
