Hello:
First off, I am VERY new to video. I've done photography for a while and am just now starting to play with video. I shot some footage with my Canon G1X which is .MOV (H.264, Linear PCM 23.976 fps). I have made a new project, set the resolution to HD and as close to my fps as possible and while all the videos import to the project and I can add them to my time line, see frames within them, nothing happens if I hit Play. Not a single thing.
Does anyone have any ideas about this? I'm pretty sure it's something I'm doing wrong, maybe a wrong project setting or preference, but I'm not opposed to it being a file format/spec that isn't native to Premiere at all.
Thanks!

Awesome. I just did that. Interestingly enough the videos all play flwalessly on the Root account, but still won't play on my account, which I find extremely curious.
Nevertheless, Jon Chappell's Terminal command worked wonders and solved the problem. Granted I have NO idea what the sudo command is or what it did, but the damn thing works now. All very curious.
Thanks for your help, it seems to be OK for the moment! I'll update and change my setup whenever the new MBP come out this year. I've been dragging this same setup for 5 years (same Login, preferences, etc) I think its time for a restart!
