Hi,
Could you please let me know the following details:
1. The version of Adobe Reader on your system. You can get the same by clicking on Help > About Adobe Reader from within the Reader application.
2. The OS you are working on.
3. Does this issue happen with all the PDFs? Can you try the following and see if you face the same issue:
http://helpx.adobe.com/content/dam/help/attachments/Acrobat_Reader_Rel easeNote_10.1.3.pdf
4. Do you have Adobe Acrobat also installed on your system?
Thanks
Ankit
Thanks for your response.
My answers are below in order of your questions.
1. I have Adobe Reader X (10.1.3)
2. OS is Windows 2010 (at least I think it is I have 2010 versions of Word
Excel etc, but I might be running Windows 2007??? Sorry not sure)
3. When I clicked on your link I got nothing just about:blank in the title
bar.
4. No I don't have Adobe Acrobat installed.
Thanks for your help!
Thanks for providing the information.
1. You can get the information about your OS by right clicking on My Computer and clicking on Properties. The OS information will be under the System section.
2. Can you try and see if the following checkbox is checked or not under the Reader Internet preferences (Edit > Preferences > Internet).
"Display PDF in browser"
3. Are you able to launch and save the PDFs on your local disk on the standalone Reader application ?? Or are you facing the issue here as well?
If you are able to view the PDFs on your local system properly then please try and launch the same PDFs in IE. Does this work without any issues?
1. Windows 7 home premium is the OS
2. Under Internet Options I could not see an option for opening pdfs -
sorry!
Where else could this option be?
3. I have no problems opening pdfs by themselves it is nly when they are
downloading from the internet that they freeze for an inordiante amount of
time and I have to exit and start again and sometimes I get it, other times
I don't!!!
4. I'm not sure how to open a pdf I have on my system in IE. Can you advise
please?
Many thanks for your help sorry am being a bit dumb.
Hi,
The option to check the "Display PDF in browser" can be found in Adobe Reader Preferences. Open Adobe Reader > Edit > Preferences > Internet.
4. I'm not sure how to open a pdf I have on my system in IE. Can you advise
please?
To do this, open IE and navigate to File > Open. Traverse to the folder location wherein you have a PDF saved on your machine, and chose to open the same.
