Rotating object by a certain degree?

May 23, 2012 9:09 AM

In CorelDRAW there is a feature like this:

1. Draw an object

2. Duplicate the object over itself by pressing numeric keyboard + sign

3. Rotate it by a certain degree (lets say 10 degrees)

4. Pressing CTRL-R duplicates object while rotating it by adding 10 degrees.

Is it possible something like this in AI? If not, it could be a nice new feature.

Yes, but it's not as intuitive. You need to apply the Transform Effect to your object.

In the Transform Effect dialog, enter your rotation degrees.

Check the Preview box so that you can see the results.

And, instead of hitting keys for each duplicate, you have to enter in the number of copes. Enter this number in the Copies field.

You can keep changing the number until you get what you need.

(I liked it the Corel way too.)
