CS6 crashes when opening CS5 document

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm trying to open up a CS5 document in CS6. It gets part the way there as it attempts to open it and it flashes a "Missing fonts" dialogue but I can't see which fonts are missing. After that the program just crashes. I can open up the file with no problems in CS5 though so I don't know what the problem is.

 

I read in another thread about how corrupt fonts can cause problems but if there's no problem in CS5 then I don't know how that could be contributing. Also, I ran font doctor on all my system fonts and fonts in Suitcase and there wasn't any major problems.

 

I wondered if anyone has any advice about how to solve this?

 

Really appreciate any help.

    Assuming that you  have CS5 installed, the first thing to try would be to export IDML from CS5 and to try to open that up in CS6.

    Thanks for the reply,

     

    Yeah I've already tried that but didn't have any lucky as it continued to crash.

     

    Would be grateful for any other suggestions.
