Selecting a Single clip with Alt+Click while multiple selected clips are selected doesn't work anymore
Now we have to first use Deselect All command or find an empty space and click there to deselect currently selected clips then use Alt+Click.

Gazzaspi, think about your statement - if you have a selection of some 30 clips, you will have to Shift+Click 29 times and then Shift+Alt+Click to select the one that you want.
Probably you didn't read carefully: "Selecting a Single clip with Alt+Click while multiple clips selected"
This means that if you select multiple clips or a group of clips or a clip with linked video+audio, you have to perform a Deselect All command or find an empty space and click there to deselect currently selected clips and only then you can use Alt+Click.
Here is how it worked in previous versions of Premiere in case if you suddenly forget:
I fail to see your logic.
You select thirty clips. OK. All these thirty clips are selected. Nothing wrong here.
Next step is to change your selection, you no longer want 30 clips, you only want one. So what stops you from selecting that single clip?
It looks like you first select a bowl of cherries. Great, but then you want to narrow down your search to a single cherry and that of course means deselecting all other cherries.
What am I missing here?
Of course it's not a big big deal, I have 4th mouse button set to "Deselect All" to avoid searching empty space in the Timeline or using "Ctrl+Shift+A".
Harm, are you really fail to see my logical intention to avoid additional step of deselecting all other cherries? In CS5.5 there was an ability to morph a bowl of cherries into a single cherry with an Alt+Click, I was doing that frequently, that's why I created this Discussion.
Let's say in CS7 they removed ability to select/deselect all tracks with Shift+Click? They could add this as an option in the context menu of track header. Would you indeed be such a purist that do not want to discuss it?
imho, it's not a big deal for programmers to restore previous behaviour, but because of negligence of *some* beta-testers they will not even move a finger
keep selecting the wrong clips
wrong clips? ![]()
If you frequently have a need to select multiple clips to Shuffle them or Label them or Group or set some Video attribute like Frame Blend or whatever else that you can do to multiple clips in Premiere's Timeline, then you might understand the need for Alt+Click a clip inside this selection. Probably you are doing chronological stuff, then I understand why you keep disagreeing.
