Null object at tip of "stroke effect"

I have a stroke effect animating a line drawn from a mask. At the tip of that line I would like to have a glow/object that is leaving the line as a trail.

 

Is there a way to parent a null object to the position of the "tip" of the line? I was thinking if there was an expression or something that can translate the End Value % (in the stroke effect) to an actual position in the comp, then that would be easy to do.

    Copy&paste the mask path to the position property, then adjust the timing of the keyframes.

    Thanks Mylenium. The path was a bit off, but I was able to adjust all the keyframes to fit the stroke path, then lines the time keyframes up with the stroke keyframes and it works awesomely!
