Hi,
i downloaded photoshop elements trial version on my laptop at work and want to install it on my private computer. I use the downloaded files. The setup interrupted several times at some point where it can't temporarily safe a .mst file (never the same file). I closed Kaspersky Antivirus and Zonealarm Firewall but the error is still there. No other programs are running during the installation. I don't want to download it again, since my internet connection at home is so slow that it takes a whole day to download this huge installation file. What can i do?
Many thanks,
Michael
Have you tried running the Adobe Support Advisor - http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/ to identify what might be causing your difficulties?
I will install it. By the way, the correct error message is in German but i try to translate it:
"Mistake during temporarily saving package E:\Windows\Installer\2989a0.msi. Error -2147286775. Please contact your support.
Maybe this helps you to identify the reason for the mistake. It doesen't finish the installation of the elements organizer but i can start the photoshop elements programm. Somehow strange. If i abort the installation, it will deinstall the software again.
Which document did it identify? You are also welcome to manually review the installation logs yourself by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5 -cs5.html.
It identified this one:

Ok I have reviewed your logs as well and I located the following errors:
DS011 which is stating it is having problems with the content of your install files.
Do you have access to another computer with a faster Internet connection? You could download the install files on that other computer and copy them via USB drive to your computer at home?
I did also look for the return value 3 error but was unable to find anything so you are right it does not appear the analyzer found anything actionable. This is why sometimes it is neccessary to review the log files manually.
