Spread audio across several slides

I am creating a software demo using captivate and voice narration. The problem is, the program uses mouse input a lot. It takes me 8 clicks just to select a date, which creates 8 slides. I can live with the large number of slides, but syncing my audio with the slides has become a nightmare. I am looking for a better way to spread my one sentence of audio across several slides. Can it be done?

 

I'm using Captivate 5.5 and going to publish as a SWF.

    Yes it can:

    1. Make a note of the slide number where you want your audio spread.
    2. Go to Audio > Record to... > Slides.
    3. When the Slides Audio dialog opens, either record your audio as the slides play in the preview window, or else Import the audio from another location to have it spread over these slides.
    4. Adjust the slide markers to suit.
