Search function in the Adobe Viewer

Hey there,

i have the follow problems with de Adobe digital Publishing suite.

 

Our company will present our costumers a catalog with the digital publishing suite for free. But we have so many questions about the FOLIO and the Adobe viewer and we need some replys quickly

 

First off all is it impossible to search in a FOLIO with the adobe viewer.

 

The adobe support cant answer these question because we have no buy a digital publishing suite edition.
Only we have buyed the Edition we become an answer from the support but we need these information before we buy an edition.

 

Can someone help me quickly

    No. There is no search feature at this time.

    Hey there i have another question.

     

    i need a replacement for the not exisiting search function in the adobe viewer. Please give me some ideas.

    You could hardwire a granular index of some sort in its own article with page level links.

    Not the same as search but maybe it gets you part of the way there.

    What is up with these blanket "No." statements? They sound short, impersonal and dont serve the customer. What about the Sotheby's folios? They have search which works quite well. Maybe there's no search "feature" per se in DPS, but that doesnt mean it can't be done.

    If you have the answer we’re all ears. My guess is anything with a search function was done totally with HTML.

     

     

     

    Finally, this is a user to user forum. While it’s probably the most monitored I know of by Adobe employees, it’s not really an official contact mechanism.

    Hey there,

    i have another question about the search function in Adobe content viewer.

     

    Is it impossible to use a html search input and put them into the layout?

    Have anybody another ideas to make a serach input in InDesign and the content viewer.

    ANOTHER question? It's the same one, I'm afraid and the answer hasn't changed, either.

     

    You'd have to do this with a strictly HTML solution.

    What about the Sotheby's folios? They have search which works quite well.

    Sotheby's implemented it by using an HTML article. Just like Bob suggested.

     

    Tapping the search icon sends you to the last article of the catalog which is an HTML article with a search functionality and probably a search index for that catalog that.
