audio clip longer than video sequence - help?

May 26, 2012 7:15 AM

Yesterday after I had cut and saved a specfic video sequence that I'd like to use in my first home movie production project and added three audio files that I created using my Text to Wav software which I saved as *.wav files, I found that the first sound clip's length extends quite a bit beyond the entire length of the viedo sequence, and the second and third audio clips extend (even when all audio clips are ajacent to each other with the left border of the first sound clip lined up with the left border of the video clip - how can I squeeze in all of these sound clips so I can add several more sound clips so all sound clips will mach exactly the entire length of this video sequence without affecting the sound quality?

Also, when I tried adding audio effects to the first sound clip's left (beginning) border, I was able to do so successfully, but when I tried to add a second audio effect next to the first audio effect, I kept getting a circle with a slash mark (null) symbol no matter what I tried to do, and I was following the Classroom in a book for PPro v2's chapter 11 "acquiring and editing audio" starting on page 293.

Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong, and how I can correct my mistakes?

Thanks in advance.

First, I do not know your Text to Wav software, but I would look into altering the Duration of those WAV files, so that they match more closely, the Video. What Project and Output settings does that program offer you?

    Good luck,
