Hi there, I never used Forms this deep so here's my simple question.
I have 5 tick boxes (option A to E), each representing a different money value.
You can only tick 1 of these 5 options.
Then I have a field for amount, i.e. how many times option A, B, C, D or E.
The last field is for the total sum.
Now how do I set this up? I've been messing around but couldn't get it to work.
TIA
Thanks for chiming in GKaiseril. Maybe my explanation was not that sound. It was pretty late when I wrote it.
Here's what I want to do. The form has 5 options to choose from, you can tick only 1.
Each option has a different (money) value.
The next step is the amount of the choice, i.e. 3 times option A or 2 times option E, etc.
So if option A (= 75) is ordered 3 times, that would total 225
The formula would be something like sum=(option * amount) but then in javascript.
In my layout I have a row of 5 tickboxes, 1 field for amount and 1 field for total.
Does my explanation make any sense this time? Thanks!
Thanks GKaiseril. I made a screendump for you to look at. Here it is:
5 tick boxes, each representing a different value.
You can only choose 1 of the 5 boxes, then the amount
of that choice (i.e. 1 or higher) in the field below
which would present us with the total sum in the last field.
On the internet you would use radio buttons but this is print
hence the tick boxes.
There is no tick box in Acrobat forms. You can use either a check box or radio button. There have a lot of similarities except radio buttons once selected always need one selected while one can remove the selection form a check box.
You need to create 5 check box or radio button fields all with the same name. Then for each individual check box or radio button change the selection value to the numeric amount of the selection.Do not use any currency symbols and use a ".' for the decimal point.
You can then use the "Field is the ____ or the following fields:" to perform the calculation for the total sum by selecting the field name for the check box or radio button and the Attendees field names.
