Viewer Builder date string issue

Looks like the Viewer Builder App Status field doesn't accept date strings in dd/mm/yy format. And since it's automatically set using the calendar widget and cannot be customized, it doesn't allow you to set the status.

 

To set it, I have to change my OS settings, to US format (mm/dd/yy).
