Buttons inside MSOs does not show other MSO

May 28, 2012 12:44 AM

If I create two MSO in a single page, say A and B, when selecting a button and trying to trigger a object state, the mso selection drop down list shows only that MSO. If I select a button inside MSO A, the button action shows only MSO A in the objecr drop down list and it's states and does not show MSO B. Why ? If I create a different button outside both the MSOs, then the action shows both MSO A and B ... capacity to trigger MSO B from inside MSO A would have been more flexible... where is the problem ?

    Hi,

Have you created two object states with the button for each one grouped to that state?

If so then you should select from the drop down Tap and add the action Go to State and select the second state from the drop down.

I think this is what you are looking for?

    Cheers Alan

@Bhaskar – the thing is: if the button is INSIDE the MSO, you can only control that same MSO. To control different MSOs with buttons, they have to be OUTSIDE the MSOs you want to control. This is a limitation of the feature, not a bug…

And, AFAIK, this is an InDesign limitation so don’t for the DPS folks to “fix” it any time soon.
