What do you mean by "not reading fonts"?

And what does the crash report for SFW say?

WIthout more details would guess you have a bad 3rd party font installed.

Ok, so you have corrupt fonts, or a corrupt OS font cache.

Which OS version are you using?

As has been pointed out in past threads, your font may not have errors, so will pass the checker, but that does not mean it will work with PS.

Best bet is to change font directory so PS sees no 3rd party fonts.  If it works that way, add back in 1/3 of fonts, retest, and then continue until you find the culprit.

Yep, you are crashing in the MacOS font code, not even close to the Adobe font code.

And that looks like one of the known MacOS bugs they didn't fix until MacOS 10.7.3.

Clearing the OS font cache might help, or removing fonts until you find the corrupt ones.

    Try this:   http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-fonts-photoshop-cs5.h tml
