Prelude will not work across spanned P2 cards

May 17, 2012 4:20 AM

Prelude will not grab the last frame from card 1 (or first frame from card 2) when a clip spans two P2 cards.

Any work arounds besides using p2 viewer?

Thanks!

    Dwight,

We have been able to reproduce the problem and have submitted a bug. As a workaround please copy the cards containing the spanned clip to the same location on your computer to the same location on your comuter (for example I copied the entire cards "Card1" and "Card2" to my Desktop) then ingest into Prelude the local copies of your P2 cards. Prelude will now be able to find the components of the spanned clip and injest them together.

    Thanks,

    Wes

Any progress in resolving this bug? I have over a hundred students currently using prelude with P2s and this workaround is not truly a viable solution for  us...would like to know if we should go ahead and install P2 software in the meantime or wait?

Essentially, Prelude makes it simple for our students to select which clips they want to transfer to shared storage, which reduces transfer times and avoids unecessary files taking up space on our server. Copying the entire contents of the cards to the server is far from ideal.

    Thank you!

    Sally

PS - Otherwise, loving Prelude and CS6 overall!

I am struggeling with the same problem. I have to go through all footage to make sure nothing has dissapeared on the way. Any updates on a fix on this? As of know I have to import the footage through Final Cut Pro 7, since Prelude does not manage to find it.
