When we add one of our research reports online, they are not readable. In order to get the content onto our site we have to eport as text and then plant it in text to the webpage...
If it can export the text shouldnt it be able to read it too?? Seems like the same technology

Basically when we put our reports up like this example here [ link removed by forum host ] (I know this will be taken down.. that is fine, only for explanation reasons)
The research reports that we write have anywhere from 1500-2000 words of great content, but when we put it up on our site the content is not searchable by the crawlers. So the only way for us to utilize teh content is to pull it out by exporting to text and then dropping the content under the report pdf's... This ends up looking unprofessional to people coming to the site so we end up just leaving the content off of the page. It seems to me like since you can export the content to a text file that there would have to be a way to add in that functionality to make the actual "text" content searchable by the web... Does that make sense?
Thanks In Advance
As TSN says, there aren't any obvious PDF files on that page, only a series of JPEG images of the report pages (which I assume you have exported from the PDF file). Images cannot be indexed by search engines, they only store text in their databases.
