How do I setup Photoshop Elements 10 to edit photos stored in iPhoto?

I want to use Photoshop Elements 10 to edit my photos managed in IPhoto.  I set preferences in iPhoto to do this but this first opens up the Photoshop Elements dialog box to choose manage or edit photos.  When I click on edit the Photoshop Elements editor opens but no photos are transferred from iPhoto.  Does anyone know what I am doing wrong and what specific steps I need to take to correct this problem?
