Pallette design & Size

May 29, 2012 9:09 PM

Can anybody enlighten me as to why the Illustrator CS6 pallette design and sizes are different (larger & square) than those in the remainder CS6 suite??

Yes, that is Indesign on the left and Illustrator on the right. And no, they are both on the same screen, at the same time...

There is more space in the AI panels... but you can't compare it to Indesign.. that's not "the rest of the Suite". That's one application. Look at Fireworks... still old style bubble select menus there. That's part of the Suite and it looks nothing like Indesign, Illustrator or Photoshop.

Indesign didn't get the UI makeover that Illustrator and Photoshop did. The panles between Illustrator and Photoshop can still show Illustrator having a pixel or two more space in some places but it's nowhere near the variation you see with Indesign. I suspect when Indesign has a dark UI... it'll be closer to the current Illustrator and Photoshop UIs.
