Hello all. I'm replacing a user's Mac with a Windows PC. (Yes I know - that's just the way is.) I need to transfer Dreamweaver MX 2004 to the XP machine. I did Transfer License on the Mac, but when I try to activate on the XP machine, I'm told that I've reached the limit of license installs. This occurs via Web registration or by the automated phone method.
When I transfer myself to an operator in the automated phone method, they put me into a queue for the Macromedia license activation dept but NOBODY PICKS UP. I've been on hold three separate times for a total FOUR HOURS and nobody picks up.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this activation issue, or a direct phone line where I can get a human?
Thanks
David
Thanks for your reply. You're right that in some situations, the serial numbers were platform specific even though the single CD had both versions. It turns out that this one could be switched between platforms, but only a limited number of times. I finally got through to Adobe by giving up on the 800 number and calling a random public relations person to explain my plight. She was very helpful and got me in touch with a customer service analyst in the corporate office who made the license change for me. I haven't tested it yet, but I'm hoping this does the trick.
