They still don't purge!!??? Any recent help??
Go to the Library Module. Click the arrow on the Keyword List to reveal all keywords. Select keywords to be deleted by Control Clicking on them. The selected keywords will then have a white highlight across them. Then to the left of the panel name Keyword List click on the minus sign, and finally click delete in the dialog box that appears.
Thanks. I was able to eliminate keywords from the Keyword List manually as you recommended.
Two observations with regard to the Keyword List:
1. The Purge Unused Keywords under Metadata does not seem to be working in general.
2. I say seem because I found many keywords with only 1 image and those images were spurious; i.e. they were obviously selected by some image recognition process and did not represent anything I catalogued. Are you familiar with this automatic image recognition?
In adding words to the Keyword List, I observed the following: the position of the word in the list is determined by highlighting the keyword in front of it. This also is true if the word is to be a sub entry under the first. In that case, it is automatically placed there.
I am often reminded of the home by Alexander Pope. The first two lines have become a familiar quotation. The next 2 are also of interest:
"A little learning is a dangerous thing,
Drink deep or taste not the Pierian Spring,
Where shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, and
Drinking largely sobers us again.”
The Pierian Spring is the mythical Greek spring from which poets got their inspiration.
