Line Distortions: Why does this happen?

I have an image that was created within flash. Some of the lines are distorted or crooked. For example, the strokes and files should show a solid line. Instead they look like they were drawn with a person who has a shaky hand. Please see picture below. Does anyone know why this happens?

 

In the picture below the fill of the eye is crooked although it was created with the circle tool.

    you need to enable anti-aliasing. 

     

    if by image you mean bitmap, right click the corresponding bitmap symbol and tick allow smoothing.

    What you show for those black areas looks more like two ovals drawn separately but overlapping.  If the intention is to have a solid black area like that I would not include the line, just the fill.

    For clarification the red line is draw over the oval to point out the jagged edges.

     

    Still haven't figured out the problem. I ended up putting the items on different layers.

     

    It's the weiredest thing.
