Darn... I'm using W7-64bit as well... I tried LR4 several times and Navigator window preview never worked. It just shows the selected photograph.

LR 3.6 works normally though.

Thanks Ssprengel, but that's not the case. I tried toggling and nothing happens.

But something is definitely wrong with Navigator. When I select the image, I've noticed that Navigator's zoom-border goes on and off.

Sometimes Navigator shows the image that I just hovered with a mouse in library on the 2nd monitor and not the current one.

So what do I do next? Can I fill the bug report for adobe so they can at least investigate this issue?

I tried everything you said with reinstalling and reg cleaning, but no dice. My system has its registry cleaned at least 1x a week, drives are regularly defragmented and W7 & all drivers are up to date. I probably have the cleanest system in the neighbourhood. So I'm 100% sure it's not the OS.

Maybe ATI drivers are causing this mess but who can tell? Everything else works perfectly.

Video is 1gb, ACR is 2gb, both cleared, rebooted. Nothing.

HOWEVER,

I did nail it a bit - if I work or pick the images via filmstrip, Navigator renders them correctly and shows the preset previews. But I don't use the filmstrip. I have a 2nd monitor and it shows the grid of thumbnails. I work from there.

There's a bug between the Grid and Navigator. If I hover the thumbnails in the grid, Navigator will show the last image I hovered and not the current one that is selected. Also, it won't show preset preview if I select the image by the grid.

So basically, hovering, selecting and picking the images in the Grid messes the view in Navigator. Filmstrip is working fine.
