Transfer from 1 PC to a 2nd

How can I get a windows XP compatible version of CS5 to work on a new PC with Windows 7 OS ?

    You simply run the installer.

    Installer I cannot find, where should I look ?  Please bear in mind that  I am  post graduate technophobe.

    Is there a way that I can use the serial number and download CS5 again ?

    You can get your serial number from the Adobe website under your account if you registered the software. Adobe doesn't provide CS5 on their website. However, if you purchased your software from the Adobe store, you should be able to log into your store account and redownload the software.
