Are you able to do all other funtions with Photoshop?  Can you click on, and open other menus, for instance?  Is Photoshop waiting for input from performing another function?  Like Free Transform?

Is there anything happening on your Task Bar waiting for a response?

Is this the oficial trial version downloaded from the Adobe website?  Is it the full version that you have a serial number for?

Can you Alt Tab to another application, and if so, is it working normally?

Have you tried deleteing the Preferences file?  (start Photoshop while holding down Shift Alt and Delete keys)

DId you make this poster from scratch, or do you have some form of this poster saved elsewhere?

I honestly don't know why you can't save it.

The only thing I can think of is restarting Photoshop, but if you have to start from scratch, well.....

Have you got this sorted out yet?  I am still wondering why you have the timeline panel open with just one frame in it. That shouln't be part of any poster making workflow I can think of.  If you are still stuck, do the Preferences reset thing, and start again with the poster, but stay in the Essentials workspace.

To reset preferences, restart Photoshop while holding down Shift, Alt and Delete keys.

Remember you are starting again.  If you bring your poster background image in again and it forces the Timeline panel to appear on screen, then have a think about that image.  Is it an animated GIF for instance? 

Here's an educated guess, just as one possibility:  there's a chance that the Save or Save As dialog box may be off your screen.  This can happen when you had a second monitor and that monitor is not connected, or when you change the resolution of your monitor drastically.
