Dark Prints

Everytime that I print out a photo it comes out much darker than on the monitor (when printing photos from other programmes the print brightness level matches that on the monitor).  I have set colour management to "Photoshop Manages Colour"; set the printer profile for my printer and the "Rendering Intent" is set to "Realtive colorimetric".

 

 

What can I do to get photos that I can use?

    Suggest that you select the option in Elements to optimize color for computer screens

    Let the printer manage colors. The idea is not to have both manage colors,

    Reduce the brightness of the computer screen from its default setting

    This advice made a slight difference (i.e. made the prints very slightly lighter), but not enough as to solve the problem.

     

    Is there another setting that I need to check in either Elements or on my printer (Epson Stylus Photo R200)?  It prints the photos really well if I process them in Elements and then load them and print them through another (in this case the utility that came packaged with my DSLR).
