PS-CS6 Square cut outs and missing backgrounds? HELP

out of the blue, some of my laters have square holes in the center of their body, as well as my background dissapearing? PLEASE HELP.

    Can you try again with your images Johnny?  PNG should be OK.   It would be helpfull if you did a screen grab so we can see your layers panel.

    Out of the blue, it just did it. And it happend to every file that i had open. I closed everything down and did a restart in hopes that it did not ruin everything. unfortunetly it seems to be permenant.

    MacOS - turn off GPU drawing until Apple updates their drivers.

     

    Which OS version are you using, and which model video card?

    mac os 10.7.2 my video card is

    Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB

    Well, 10.7.2 has known video card driver issues (mostly) fixed in 10.7.3.

    And the Intel GPUs also have a lot of known problems.

     

    Try turning off the GPU in Photoshop preferences then relaunching Photoshop.

    I have done the suggested. It was fine for a while, and it just happened again.... Is it my video card then?

    Is GPU drawing still turned off?  If it's fine with GPU drawing disabled, then it is probably the video card driver.

    It just did it with GPU drawing disabled. It has not done it in some time, now it has done it 3 times today. Before i thought it was because i pressed the 3d button or something. But all i was using was the magic wand selector and poof.. a square missing in my images and my background clears. Very strange. It does not seem to effect any of the items created in PS only the outside images and backgrounds.
