I have sucessfully rolled out Flash 228 via Group Policy with the MSI package. That worked a treat. I also pushed out the mms file.
The issue I have is, it isn't updating. The update service has been installed, but not schedule task has been made.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks Michael. Unfortunately I forgot to have you enable SilentAutoUpdateVerboseLogging=1 in your mms.cfg file. Would you mind doing that, give it a couple hours then post another log?
Thanks Chris, but will this explain why I have no scheduled task installed on Windows? I would be handy if Adobe made it easier to tell if the MMS setting were actually being picked up.
Could you please add the FlashInstall.log file from the 32-bit location as well? This will allow us to isolate the issue. You can find it at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash.
i have a similar problem. I installed the 32bit version 18.104.22.168 on a win 7 64bit OS.

Your log shows that the Background Updater is successfully starting up and attempting to check for updates. However, your system doesn't seem to be able to connect to Adobe's backend. Please make sure that you permit connections to port 80 on fpdownload2.macromedia.com and port 443 on fpdownload.macromedia.com.
To run a quick check, please open a web browser and try connecting to the following URLs:
If you want to continue restricting access to these ports/domains, you might want to consider hosting updates to Flash Player on your internal network instead. You can refer to my blog post here for instructions on how to set this up.
On a 64-bit Windows system, you will want to place your mms.cfg file in:
An mms.cfg file that is placed in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash will be ignored on 64-bit Windows. If there is one there, feel free to remove it to avoid confusion in the future. It has no bearing on the installers, updaters, or Flash Player itself. Only on 32-bit Windows systems will the mms.cfg be placed in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash.
Your log shows that you successfully connected to the Adobe backend and that the Background Updater attempted to download the updates. However, the download and verification of the updates failed. Please make sure that you can connect to the following URLs from a web browser on the affected system (and that you don't get a 404 or similar error):
As you can see from my Group Policy it should put it in the right place. My 32 bits aren't updating either so I assume that is due to access to the URL. The 64 bit may well be a bit of both. I will report back once I fix it.

We have a internet security program called webwasher (McAfee) running, I've made a request to make sure, that the links are not blocked in any way, but have not got an answer yet.
I am out of the office, but from memory and looking at the start of this thread I have the version that ended 228 x64. I would have expected to be updated to any version release after that, but now I think it should 11.3.x.x.x.
It would be great if you could send us your latest FlashInstall.log. This would help us identify where this is still failing. This still appears to be a connection problem, maybe to the installers this time.
I had to reboot this morning and on reboot Flash opened to say an upgrade we available. I declined. You can get the logs from the link below. I have included 32 and 64 bit. I renamed them so you know which is which.
This seems to be due to the fact that the release of 11.3 was a scheduled release. For scheduled releases, the current Adobe policy intends to notify users of the update for a period of time (currently 30 days) before updating automatically.
