Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CS6 will not launch

Using my Creative Cloud account, I downloaded CS6 Bridge, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to both my office MacPro and my home iMac. All applications launch on the home iMac, and all but InDesign and Illustrator launch on the MacPro.

Both InDesign and Illustrator "quit unexpectedly" upon every attempt to launch on the office MacPro. The automated Adobe response says that no solution can be found.

I have tried rebooting and making sure no other applications are running on either of the two Macs. Always get the same crash result.

Problem Solved!

I found the answer in another forum discussion, http://forums.adobe.com/message/4444075#4444075, down at the very end of the discussion.

If you are like me and running Mac Lion and experiencing this crash-on-launch situation, follow the steps posted at

The procedure worked for me, and it does not take all day, like dealing with this forum does.
