I want, but I really want, to buy the update lightroom 4, but there is no way. That's now several days and a lot of hours that I'm wasting trying to get the update ( I own Lightroom 3).
1.- Tried to pay with my Paypal account : account is registered in Ecuador => sorry we can't process your request
2.- Opened thus a new Paypal account with the US address of my official ecuadorian P.O box post service in Miami => we can't check your address.
3.- Tried to pay with my international Visa credit card from my bank account in Ecuador (I'm buying a lot of stuff and softwares that way) => sorry an error occurred. We can't process your order.
4. Tried to pay with my international MasterCard from my bank account in Belgium (I'm for example paying my monthly subscription to Linda.com that way) => sorry an error occurred. We can't process your order
5.- Tried to buy through Amazon.com => sorry we don't deliver to your country.
6.- tried to register with Adobe.fr (hopping to be able to pay with my European Mastercard) : Only available for French resident people.
7. Tried to buy with the resellers contacts Adobe is giving for my country. No one has Lightroom 4.
Can someone give me a solution or do I have to download the piracy software !!!!!!!???????
Less that I can say is that the Adobe buying system comparing to other US or European companies is really bad. Seems they forget that there are other people living out there, outside of the US territory.
Thanks Martin-s. Indeed I was able to order from B&H and no problem to pay with my credit card nor for shipping.
It comforts me that I'm not the only one with this problem. Really a pity that Adobe map is so limited and that they exclude a lot of countries and customers.
Thanks again for your help
As you can see for martin-s answer, I'm not an isolated case. Thanks to his advice my problem seems to be solved. I followed also your tip and I downloaded the RC2. This will help me to wait till the box arrives from B&H (my free trail ends in 2 days). Thank you JimHess for this useful tip.
Glad to see I am not the only one...
I attempted to buy Adobe Lightroom Upgrade a year ago...after many attempts I gave up and just stuck with Version 2.
I thought I'd try Version 4 now...12 months later.
Again I am getting an error. (I had previously tried all manner of methods..different credit cards etc...I am no longer prepared again to spend several days trying to buy this software.
This is just ridiculous. I have never had any issues every buying anything online...apart from Adobe.
There seems to be some serious issue with the Adobe Online store. If someone can please tell me how I can purchase Adobe Lightroom 4 upgrade in Australia I would love to know.
Thank you.
Who are you trying to complete the purchase with, Adobe USA? I live outside the USA also and have never been able to complete a purchase with Adobe USA with my credit card, won't happen. Adobe USA only accept payment from Credit Card holders with registered addresses in the USA. I have always purchased my upgrades from Amazon and have to await the shipped box version to obtain the serial number to register the product.
The 30 day trial period has always allowed sufficient time to have access to the product. No problem with accessing the unpaid updates.
Thanks for reply..
It is the Adobe store Australia...I have an Australian Credit card.
I will try ringing the number they include during the week...and see if I can get an Australian representative...
...was just feeling a bit frustrated that even a year later this is still so difficult.
Thanks.
Good ole Brits, they seem far more down to earth and realistic in such matters. Living in Germany and paying with a German bank card one would normally think that payment would be via Adobe Germany. But no, it goes through Adobe in Ireland who just so happen to have a much higher tax rate than we have, or indeed most of Europe have and who find themselves in the same boat. As taxes paid go to the Irish government and not the USA I've come to the conclusion that this is Adobe's way of supporting the Irish economy. Rant over - no derogatory comments required thank you.
