Adobe Community: I downloaded Lightroom 4 upgrade and cannot open the installer

I have same problem. Using Windows Vista Business 64. When I double click the icon, it twirls for less than a minute and then stops.

Without any error messages it is impossible to tell if both of these issues are related and what is causing the failure to install.

Mauryk1 you may want to try invoking the installer by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator. This might at least give an error message which we can look at.

I had tried to Run as Adminstrator, but that didn't work either. However, I used IZarc to unzip the files (tried several times, and the unzipped files worked. My guess is that it was looking for some type of decompression program and couldn't find it.

I am experiencing the same problem.

The upgrader for 4.3 doesn't start, but doesn't give any message either.

Uninstalling Lightroom entirely didn't make any difference.

Will try to use IZarc, but hopefully Adobe will solve this soon.

There is some trouble from the Microsoft side which we are aware of.
