Illustrator CS2 issue

Yes, I have CS2 for Illustrator, I got it through college.
Anyways, I was working on vectors and was drawing strokes and being able to see the guide line (I suppose that's what you call it) in the middle of the stroke path.

BUT, I must've selected something wrong, because I can't see the line.

I restarted PC even, rebooted AI, and still can't see it.

I used the Pen to draw some lines, but I don't see the blue line that is shown when you drag and change the curve of the path.

Is there anything I can do?

 

EDIT: I opened up a new window/file and when I drew the path of the Pen tool, I was able to see it again? Was it just a problem w/the file itself?
