Hi, I'm still sadly using CS2 on mac 10.5 for small design business.
Just bought new system mac 10.7 and of course CS2 won't work on it.
What versions of Creative Suite will work on my new computer?
I really can't afford to spend the 1300 bucks on CS6...
And why the heck won't Adobe give me some kind of upgrade?
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Julia
You had your shot at upgrade pricing until CS6 shipped. In fact, you could have gone to CS5.5 and gotten CS6 for free, but that deal is dead.
Adobe's upgrade policy has been in effect for many years. Three version back and that's it.
Effective 2013 that policy changes to one version back. You are out of the upgrade loop and you have three choices.
1. Don't do anything and live without the software.
2. Buy a full CS6 license.
3. Move to Creative Cloud.

Good deal? What kind of good deal? Like on eBay…home of the software pirates?
You’re risking your money on anything other than an authorized reseller and finding anything but CS6 now will be a crap shoot.
And no, you’re not going to get a deal from Adobe…they offered you one for years when CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS5.5 were released and you didn’t take advantage of it.
My suggestion is to take advantage of Creative Cloud.

Just found this on Amazon: http://amzn.to/NtcDwj
You might even still be eligible for a free upgrade to CS6 but I wouldn't count on it: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/upgrade-policy-produ ct-announcement.html

I checked the case note and found that initailly you had the Invalid checksum error , which was fixed from the Disk utility preferences after which your installation completed but Indesign , Photoshop didn't get install.
Then you upgraded to Mac 10.7.4 and faced the error "Installer failed to initialize " while installation . I hope I am right till this point.
Now you are getting this error and can't continue your installation.
First , Restart your machine in "Safe mode" and then check,
If incase this doesn't work then check from the new user account as Bob said earlier , there is a difference in root user and new user account (admin privileges)
you're right up to a point, i can't get 10.7.4 to install either...
the whole thing with the checksum error is still there ..
sorry to say , but how do i restart machine in safe mode..
and have been trying to install, solely from root user account..
i can't try this til later, crazy schedule.
but thanks for all advice
Hey Manish, please can you email me (Staff, Adobe): bchaudha@adobe.com.
This is not sale realted comment and it is only to help the Julia - "For Forum Admin"
If you are still facing the "Checksum error " then you can navigate to Disk Utility -->Preferences and then uncheck "Verify Checksum "
Now check installing the software . If still you get the same error i.e. "Invalid Checksum" then download is corrupt and you have redownload the product.
Now , If you don't get the Invalid checksum error , and you stuck at "Installer failed to initialize " then restart the machine in Safe Mode , check :- http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1455
Check installing in the safe mode.
