i cant create a new shape from layer in the 3d column. how come?

when i press the 3d column in photoshop cs6 there should be a "new shape from layer" option. but it isnt. where can i find that option?

could it be because i use a trial version?

    Skjermbilde 2012-06-03 kl. 21.18.33.pngi get these options while i have seen other people get more options like theseSkjermbilde 2012-06-03 kl. 21.20.40.png

    You're using Photoshop CS6, and the other screenshot is from CS5.

    CS6 completely reworked the 3D UI to make it easier to use.  But that means that some of the CS5 tutorials aren't going to match.

    The trial version is same as purchased version, just a time limitation of 30 days.

    Hello, it does not seem that you did explore the available options...

    Especially: New Mesh from Layer>Mesh Preset>...
