Hello all,
I have a couple of questions about linking to PDFs from Webhelp. I've been doing some testing and haven't been able to fully figure this out.
I am using TCS3, FrameMaker integration. I would like to include a link in my FM source to a PDF file. This works properly when I generate the output PDF. However, when I include this file in my Robohelp project, the entire Hypertext Marker defined as follows is removed:
Hypertext marker:
Command > Open Document
openlink 450-3201-543_(OneControl_R2.1_Alarms)Issue03.AB.pdf:firstpage
If I link directly in RH by including a hyperlink to the PDF and then generate my online help, the link works and the PDF file opens.
However, when I use the full-text search capability (Search tab) to find something in the PDF, the PDF opens to the first page and not to the page that includes the relevant text. The PDF is listed in the Search results, but when I click on the link in the SEarch results, it goes to the first page of the PDF. Surely this is not expected behaviour.
Any ideas?
Sue
Ah, that's a shame. Thanks for getting back to me though.
It seems ridiculous that the search facility doesn't link to the search word. It's the first response I got when demonstrating the Webhelp search! I'll try posting the question again, just in case anyone's come up with a solution since you posted.
Thanks again.
