I've long been looking for the perfect wireframe/prototype app. I think Adobe Proto will be it (I have faith in you guys!), but there are some things missing in my opinion. Here's my wish list for the perfect app:
I think this program is an awesome start, and I definitely work much faster in this program than other prototype programs, which is why I wanted to bring every suggestion I could think of. Good work!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Actually, we have way to create table by gesture. draw like + will create table on canvas. please refer to Gesture Guide.
Regarding some of the UI elements, it could be mixed up typical static wireframe application.
We try to focused on Interactive wirefame. Therefore, that is not directly fit as current scope. However, when you place form element and view in preview mode, you can invoke keyboard. Same thing for the search field. When you create mobile layout wireframe and preview in iPhone or smart phone, you can verify how keyboard function with those form element.
For the version 1.0, we focused on stripped out design factor, such as adding photo, changing color, editing <p> text to focus on communication for information priority of the contents.
Based on the user's voice, we will prioritize new feature sets for near future version's of Adobe Proto.
We are interested in what kind of wireframe you typically create and want to create.
If you can share your design, we really appriciate that!
Thanks,
Takashi
Thanks for the quick feedback, Takashi! Good to know about the table gesture, somehow I missed that one.
I definitely understand the 1.0 priorities that you mentioned, and I love that the focus was to create an interactive wireframe. My list was a "perfect world" list that would escalate the app to "can't-live-without-it" status in my book. I do think everything in the list is valueable in communicating ideas quickly though. In version 1.0, a lot of notes need to be added (or use of the Text Title as a label) in order to explain anything beyond basic layout. A simple way to do this is to have annotations that can link to external samples. For example, if I wanted to have an image scroll pane and use iScroll on the mobile version for touch gesture simulation, I would have a hard time getting this idea across to the client using only image boxes and the Title Text feature. If I could place the image pane and then link to an external example (like this one) in an annotation (like a pin or "i" icon that sits directly on the element), that would pretty much solve the problem.
Display order or z-index editing is a must I think. This has caused me several frustrations already where an element would end up behind something that it shouldn't be and I had to delete it and start all over.
Everything else would improve convenience. Certain UI elements are so common that it would be nice to have a quick way to place them (like scroll bars, pagination, social network icons, etc). Being able to include external images, like a client logo, will always make the client happier when they review the wireframe.
Unfortunately, I've only been using Proto a short time, so I don't have a good example of what I would like for it to do in a dream scenario (I still have to use other tools for that), but you can take a look at this wireframe and see some of the elements I'm talking about (labeling an image as a map, social icons, UI elements like the forward and back buttons on the image scroller).
Hopefully that helps clarify a little. Once again, I love where this is headed and thanks for your time!
