I'm trying to find some informations about closed captioning and live http dynamic streaming. May be it is the wrong place for this question, but I see that some work has been done in the OSMF player (SMPTETTPlugin, CaptioningPlugin for example).
In two words, is closed captioning supported as it is the case for the Microsoft smooth streaming protocol ? In the case of live SmoothStreaming, the ttml is embedded in an mp4 track that is synchronized with the video, like the audio track is.
Sorry for the comparaison with the smoothstreaming, but I'm familiar with it, and my goal is to compare both protocols and it is very difficult to find informations about subtitling, so I fear it is not well supported for live.
Any pointers appreciated.
We still have found no clue from Adobe to implement this.
At least, does someone checks what the Adobe server does with subtitles tracks coming from DVB-TXT ?
If you use your custom server, one way is probably to update both server and OSMF to implement a close source solution :-(
Thanks for the reply.
I cant believe that adobe markets the AMS 5 as 608 and 708 compliant but the instructions on the developer guides are actually not instructions just information.
Is this supposed to be compatible just by writing action script?
I was trying to use HDS with by using the embeded code.. its much easier
I am currently looking to have a .mov video files with cc embeded and try to stream it that way. I guess it wont work
If you find anything, i would appreciate if you can post it here..
By the way did you implemetn any kind of CC on your videos?
