Change Serial Number

Jun 7, 2012 2:22 PM

I'm in one area of a large organization, and need to install 30 copies of Acrobat Pro X.  I was provided media from another group.  If I double-click setup.exe, I can step through the install wizard up to the serial number.  There is a prepopulated serial number that does not work.  It is NOT the one I want to use.  So I highlight it, delete it, and add in the serial number purchased for these 30 installs.  It works just fine, aside from having to step through it all manually.

So I downloaded and installed the "Adobe Customization Wizard X" and stepped through it.  Under "Personalization Options", I entered the correct serial number.  I also adjusted a number of other basic settings, like skipping the EULA, and giving ONLY a progress bar.  I also tried "interactively".

Now, when I try to run setup.exe, it errors out with a message showing the same OLD, WRONG serial number.  I don't know where it's coming from because the transform clearly shows the correct number.  I have also tried using:

acropro.msi transforms=acropro.mst (with the full path to both the .msi and .mst) and it's still got the wrong serial number.

Changing from "unattended" to "interactively" will let me step through the wizard.  Again, I see the wrong serial number.

Where is this serial number being stored?  How do I change it?

If you open the Wizard's Help, you'll see the sn is stored in ISX_SERIALNUMBER. Try using that property in the Setup.ini file if you continue to have issues.
