Lagarith Lossless encoded footage shows up as black video after ingesting

Jun 7, 2012 8:55 AM

Hi guys,

I have an issue with Prelude where I'm trying to ingest footage recorded by DXtory in the Lagarith Lossless codec and the resulting ingested video just showing a black screen (with working audio) in the preview window. Premiere Pro imports and edits the exact same footage perfectly fine. Any ideas as to how to combat this?

    HI Nicholas,

Can you zip up one of the media files in question and provide it to us so we may see what's going on?

I'm experiencing this problem with AVIs created with Lagarith using AmaRecTV (a similar capture app to DXtory); they play fine using the LAV decoder and also display and decode without issue in Sony Vegas. Premiere Pro 6 accepts the file but seems unable to render the video.

All videos used in tests are YUY2 colourspace, 1080i25, AVI wrapper. Premiere Pro reports the following for clip properties:

    AVI File details:

    Contains 1 video track(s) and 1 audio track(s).

    Interleave: 1 : 5.00

    Video track 1:

Size is 960.15M bytes (average frame = 922.95K bytes)

    There are 1074 keyframes.

    Frame rate is 25.000 fps

    Frame size is 1920 x 1080

    Depth is 16 bits.

    Compressor: 'LAGS', Lagarith Lossless Codec

    Audio track 1:

    Size is 7.86M bytes

    Rate is 48000 samples/sec

    Sample size is 16 bits

    C.
