Layer box : selected layer is gray instead of blue

Hi everyone,

 

I don't know how I did it, but now when I selected a layer in the layers window it's gray instead of blue, and if I try to move around the content of the layer I get that message : « Could not use the move tool because the target channel is hidden »

 

I went to the channel window but can't find anything abnormal. What's going on ?

    Usually that means one of the channels is selected or maybe your in Quick Mask Mode.

    Yes, I can see now that when the problem happens, the Quick Mask is selected (but not visible). If I click on the RGB mask things return to normal. However in this case, if I then select another layer or click on my document with the eyedropper tool, the Quick mask becomes selected again and the problem returns !

    See if exiting the quick mask mode clears things up.

    Click on the Quick Mask button at the bottom of the toolbox to exit quick mask mode.
