in print module main window for image control (not preview window in the left upper corner) is blank. what is the reason and how can be remedied?
os Mac Lion 10.7.3
lightroom 4 ( the 3-rd version had the same problem)
Are you in custom mode (right-hand panel, top) ?
Then maybe you have no design yet, nor any images dragged into cells.
To check the general behaviour: switch to contact sheet mode, and select a preset from the left-hand panel, then select one image from the filmstrip.
That should fill the main window.
I begin to think that you might have a corrupted monitor profile or that your preference file has gone "funny".
Is your monitor calibrated?
If you have a calibrated monitor the cause for the strange behavior could be a corrupt Preference file. This file can - by some reason or other - become "funny" and then creates all kinds of strange behavior in Lr.
See here where the various Lr files are located: http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lighroom -3.html
See here how to go about replacing your prefernce file: http://lightroomers.com/replacing-the-lightroom-preference-file/745/
thanks for help.
web-weaver, probably you are right. as above, I reinstalled LR with newer 4.1 release. I suppose this renewed PREFERENCES file, although preferences migrated from previous version - they werethe same I changed before. that did good job for print module, but filmstrip began blank. found in forum "try to relaunch LR". this is good advice . every great idea is simple. everything is stable as yet.
thanks for "replacing preferences file" direction. I'll try this method if any.
