I've been trying to figure out how to make a image play an animation when you drag your mouse across it, the perfect example is from this website http://www.momentskis.com/ if you drag your mouse across the logo it will play an animation. Is it a swf object with some actionscript to play the animation when the mouse is over it? Or am I way off base here? I want to know the best way to do this and which programs to do it with. Thanks!
SWF & Action Script are the language of Flash. So you have your answer.
However, if your target audience doesn't have a Flash supporting web device (iPhone, iTouch, iPad, etc...), they won't see it.
You might get the effect you crave with CSS3 and jQuery.

Yeah that was my plan if nothing else worked out, I just want to have a high quality animation and I'm not entirely knowledgable on gifs but they are quite limited when it comes to quality correct? I just wish i could understand how the company did it on the website i provided, i can't seem to figure out how by looking at their code.
