Maybe I'm overlooking something really obvious but I'm really struggling to find how to embed loop points in this version of Audition - can anyone point me in the right direction?
Audition CS6 does not offer advanced loop creation tools with this release. Even Audition 3 didn't offer sustain and release control for loops. Can you describe the type of projects you typically work?
Really? That's quite a shocking omission for a wave editor! I work in video games so this kind of functionality is crucial. Just recently switched to Audition as I figured it was a more fully featured package - looks like I'll be going back to Sound Forge...

It's not an 'omission' as such - Audition is a work in progress, and as the timing of each release is predetermined by agreed dates for the whole of the suite's programs, and development time is essentially finite, it simply can't all be done in one go. There have been a lot of arguments about priorities and any sort of features like advanced loop control properties, which aren't fundamental to the operation of the software, will inevitably end up a lot closer to the back burner, I'm afraid.
The main argument in this case is that although it would perhaps be a bit of a pain to do, the results required could potentially be created in Multitrack view anyway. I can quite understand why you wouldn't want to work like that though. But, the more information about what you'd like to see in the way of controlling and manipulating loops, the better chance there is of getting them implemented.
in this case FMod
Thanks that narrows it down. Are there any other tools you know of that aren't FMod that can create these loop points? Can you post a sample file that contains the loop points? What I need to know is exactly which chunk in the audio file FMod is reading, and then I can help you.
