CS6 CUSTOM CROP SIZE !!!!!

i just entered custom crop dimensions and applied it, two questions:

 

  1. where's the Resolution field (i can't imagine the benefit to 'improving" this interface by hiding the resolution) -- can someone explain how to select the Crop tool, enter custom width-height-resolution and apply the crop?
  2. after i applied the crop my image size is not the 3.5 x 5" i entered (what gives) — did i miss something?

    i just went back to CS5 to get my work done..here's my personal peeve with 'improvements'

     

    here is the the CS5 Crop tool Custom interface (simple, clear, intuitive, complete):

    why on Earth would anyone have a need to 'improve' on this with what i'm seeing now in CS6???

    Have a look at some of the many online tutorials about the new CS6 Crop Tool.

     

    Many people view it as a vastly improved tool.
