Huge Preview-Bug in Speedgrade

Jun 3, 2012 5:46 PM

Hey there,

I've just installed Production Premium CS6 and tried out Speedgrade but had to find out that it's not working at all on my notebook.

The Preview simply is not working. After I created a timeline from a clip, it shows me the frame for half a second and then it shows only black.

The frame can be seen totally squeezed down in either the top or the bottom left corner of the preview window.

If I click in the preview window and hold down the left mouse button, I can see the frame. (Along with various numbers describing the pixel I'm clicking at)

This happens with every footage I've tried. (h.264, png-pictures, tiff sequence, foto-jpeg movs).

My specs:

Intel i5 2430M

8gb ram

Windows 7 64bit

Intel hd3000 graphics

Hope someone can help me with this major bug.

    Hey Tobi,

did you update your Intel-Graphic Chipset to the latest driver?

Let me know if that helps.

I am having the exact same problem.  I get a tiny little picture in the top left corner but when I click on the monitor I can see my video full size.

You can try downsampling the loaded image:

    -Settings

    -Dynamic Quality

    ->Downsample frames to specific resolution

Crazy thing, it worked just fine, when I installed it - so hardware is not the problem.

And no, reinstalling doesnt solve the problem.

    Drives me nuts.

Which image format and resolution are you using ? Try to force downsampling (as described above) for high resolution images.

Most of my material is uncomopressed, but I tried about any format on the planet - no dice.

Forcing downsampling didn't cut it ether.

Maybe something with the nvidia settings? I think the problem accured, after I tried external monitoring.

Bevore that it worked just fine.

Hi guys, just wanted to follow up on my previous post.  I bought a dedicated graphics card with one gb of ram and that fixed the problem.  So my problem at least was hardware.

I also solved it, by setting the speedgrade  to "compatible" mode in the nvidia settings.

There are those  3D settings where you can assign different functions to each program you use.

Did not make sense to me in the first place, I thought it's for games only - but it worked like a charm.
